Mission Action Plan

SMC Eight Word Mission Action Statement (requested by Wimbledon Circuit and agreed by Church Council on 27 June 22)

“To raise the Spirituality of our Local Community”

SMC MISSION ACTION PLAN (agreed by Church Council on 20 February 2023)

Inspiration taken from Hymns and Psalms 806 verse 2:

“What is our mission here? He makes his purpose clear … Give me your hand, my friend, Jesus is Lord”

The Mission Action Plan of Stoneleigh Methodist Church is to continue to be a welcoming church within the community and to support the Christian Faith in prayer, worship, learning and charitable and pastoral actions.

  • Community Relationship: We aim to pray for our neighbours regularly and faithfully. We aim to publicise our activities by leafletting our neighbours, to let them know that we are praying for them and to keep them up to date with what is happening at SMC
We aim to support other Churches in the Circuit and in Ewell, by including them in our prayers and offering assistance, where resources allow.
  • Improving the spiritual life of the church: We aim to continue our current Sunday and mid-week meetings and continue offering opportunities for the church family to grow in their walk with God.
To pray for members of pastoral groups in our regular worship.
  • Pastoral Action: We have a long-standing pastoral care network, and we aim to keep this network active and healthy, acknowledging the enormous contribution made by the pastoral secretary and all members
  • Charitable Action: Our mission is to continue to support local charities with monies and gifts.
It is the current mission of the church to continue to raise funds for the Library and ICT project of the Sudbury School in Ghana.

All our actions are intentional by prayer and are in accordance with our means.
