We have agreed to support the Epsom & Ewell Foodbank, seeded by the Trussell Trust nationally. Foodbanks help to prevent family breakdown, housing loss, crime and mental health problems. The team also takes time to listen and signpost people to further support.

Epsom & Ewell food bank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis.

How does the food bank work?

  • Non-perishable food is donated by the public
  • Volunteers sort and pack food into emergency food boxes
  • Frontline care professionals (such as doctors and social workers) give food bank vouchers to people in crisis
  • Food bank vouchers are exchanged for 3 days of food at a food bank
  • Food banks take time to listen and signpost clients to further support

How can I help?

  • You can donate food to the food bank
  • You can donate money to support the food bank
  • You can volunteer your time to help at the food bank
  • You can help run a fundraising event
  • The Foodbank has been selected as one of Epsom & Ewell Mayor’s Charities for 2014/2015, so by supporting the various events run by the Mayor’s Charity fund, you will be supporting the Foodbank (as well as hopefully enjoying yourself!)
What sort of food items are acceptable?
  • As the Foodbank releases periodic updates on their current needs, we will show this information in our right hand side-bar.

Collection points update (7/12/14):

Leeds Building Society (13 High Street, Epsom KT19 8DA) have a permanent collection point.

This goes with collection points already opened at Tescos (Leatherhead), Sainsburys (Epsom) and Budgens (Stoneleigh).  If they don’t work for you then you can still drop food at the Generation Resource Centre or most local churches especially Epsom Methodist and Ruxley Church where we run distribution points from.

The distribution centre will be open on Wednesday afternoons 2:00pm – 4:00pm from Wednesday October 3rd at Ruxley Church, and at Epsom Methodist Church on Fridays – same timings.
